Texas Bound

We had a really nice getaway to College Station, TX visting Danny, Candy and the boys. The weather was so pleasant. It was cooler on Sat. but the temp topped out in the upper 70's on Sunday. Even though our trip was short we were thankful for getting a break after a real long snowy fridgid winter in the East coast.

Evan and Owen are 20 months old now and as cute and vivacious as ever. The last time we saw them they were not walking yet and this time around they're chasing each other around. It was neat to see Adrian interact with his cousins. Most times they just take each other's toys, someone then screams and then someone gets yelled at by the adults...it doesn't seem that long ago that was happening to me. I can't believe I'm the one who is doing the discipling these days, this is scary!

On Saturday Uncle Jon showed the boys the washers go in the holes. We have to start the Mexican horseshoe at an early age! you aren't an Otto unless you master this event. Whitney, Uncle Jon and Zac took turns giving the boys wagon rides in the backyard. The mischievous little ones soon found an empty sandpit. They went from jumping in it to pretend sleeping in it. It was really cute to see them demand each other to "sleep".

Sunday we went to the park down the street. After what seems like a hundred go at the slide they boys decided to throw around playground pebbles. Adrian really tested our patience after we told him many times he shouldn't throw pebbles at other people. It's time like this we realize even being consistent doesn't seem to work.

We were suppose to fly home at noon on Monday but after being dropped off at the airport by Danny we realized our flight was an hour and a half delayed. The unpredictable weather was brewing in Chicago and we didn't get home until after 6PM EST. We had originally planned the inbound flight around Adrian's nap time but the plan was foiled by the delay in our flight. Imagine a really cranky, tired and stubborn child in a crowded airport! we finally situated at a Chili's to have lunch. Luckily, there was a large window that had a wonderful view of airport equipments, vehicle and large planes for Adrian's entertainment. That window really saved our sanity.

To answer everyone's question...yes, Adrian did not break the streak. He pooped as soon we took off in both outbound and inbound flights. I guess this is another one of Adrian's quarks.

It's good to be home...we're exhausted. We miss you all in Texas, can't wait for the Otto Rebellion in July!

Thomas and Friends

Adrian's new craze is anything that is Thomas the Train related. Daddy and mommy surprised Adrian with this set up with remote controlled and motorized trains.

Blizzard 2010 Round 2

Our area was once struck by another winter storm. This time less snow accumulation but the wind gust caused a white out. I was sitting in the kitchen and I heard snow shifting from the roof. I opened up the kitchen door to the deck and there was Superman's Fortress of Solitude.....very hazardous!

I can't claim credit to the creation of the hanging snowman but that is how we all feel about snow at about now.

Sledding

Thanks to Mrs. Dana, Mommy's nice co-worker for this super fun sled.

Blizzard of 2010

We had over 2 feet of snow this past weekend. Poor Zac has a sore back from shoveling. Adrian had cabin fever and we tried our hardest to keep him entertained, good thing he found the laundry basket to be a good boat, bed, car or anything his little imagination will make it. We even lost electricity from 5:30 am to 2 pm on Saturday. Luckily, we have a gas stove in the kitchen. When the temp. got below 65 upstairs we gathered up some toys and huddled in the basement with the gas fireplace. What an adventure!

Hats

What do you know!? silly little man now loves hats....he'll even wear this toy bucket as a hat.

Daycare Project For The Week

Hello Parents!

I hope you had a great weekend! We mostly stayed indoors where it was warm and dry! :)
I got some awesome pictures of the kids on picture day! This week's theme is "Letters of Love!" The kids will be doing all sorts of artwork this week and we will be mailing it home to you. In every "letter" I will include one of the pictures that I took. We will be walking to the mailbox every afternoon before lunch to mail home our artwork and pictures.

Best,
Robyn
