DC In a Whim

Adrian went in the city today. We wanted to show him dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum. More and more I find myself forgetting things -- little things and big things. Now, I know that post-kid forgetfulness is normal and nothing to worry about but it really can make a girl wonder what exactly happened to that well-rested, focused pre-pregnancy brain I used to take for granted. I forget it is Biker's week and on top it's Memorial Day weekend, traffic is unbareable during this time of the year. We've got to program this into our brain for future reference...avoid DC during high tourist season. In spite of the traffic chaos I did feel in awe among all the patriots during this patriotic weekend. I was honored to be present while the flags flown and the bikers paraded in our capital...I felt the pride in our country. With that said, once we had the parking situation settled the rest of the time was fun. I'm glad little man had the opportunity to see the dinosaurs after all and plenty other exhibits in the museum. We even had a nice walk/pigeon chase on the National Mall before heading home.

p.s. don't worry, Adrian wasn't about to chase the pigeons into the streets, the street was closed for biker's parade. Yikes, we're not neglectful parents...most of the time!

p.p.s to those who thinks I don't feed little man enough. He eats all the time...I have pictures now to prove he's constantly stuffing his face with food.

Camping.....Indoor!

Look what we found at Target!!!! Little man has been getting a kick out of hiding under a blanket or behind the curtain so when we saw this tent we knew he would be fond of it. When we took the rods and the other pieces out of the box he giggled like a mad man. I'm not sure if the Enginneer in him was gitty about the million pieces sprawled out on the ground or he liked the look of the tent already. Anyhow, since the tent has been assembled tonight he's been in the 90% of the time. We managed to coax him out of his tent for a short dinner break. The reading Easter frog, his favorite books and some blocks have moved in the tent too. Not only does he want to be in there but he makes sure I have to stay in there with him. I feel like a little kid again sitting in there :)

Take Me Out To The Ball Game...

What a fun day at the Nationals Park. Zac's gracious boss give us tickets to see the Nats play Phillys today. Danny, Zac's brother is friends with the backup pitcher of Phillys so we were upgraded to great seats in the shade right next to the third base. Way to be resourceful, Zac! Jon, Zac's uncle was also in town so it was so fun to have him accompany us to Adrian's first baseball game. Little man did surprisingly well and lasted through majority of the game. We left on top of the ninth inning but the Nats were losing pretty badly by then so we didn't feel bad ditching them.

Reading To Adrian

It's so neat Adrian loves to read. Sometimes he'll open a book and pretend to be reading by spewing out jibberish....really funny to listen and watch. Notice the frog wearing bunny ears reading a book. Daddy created Easter frog as Adrian's reading role model. Goofballs!

Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum

We spent our rainy Sunday goofing around at the Air and Space Museum. Little man kept pointing at airplanes but he probably was too fascinated to speak. I'm surprised he didn't call the aircrafts "turtle" as everything this weekend was "tuurrtle". The observation tower was neat even though visability was low. Planes were coming in for landing and we got to hear them communicate with the tower. Note Zac prepping Adrian for a cheerleading stunt...just kidding. I think Grandpa James would enjoy at trip to this museum.

Indoor Pool

Rainy weather calls for indoor playing.
